A whimsical whirlwind weekender with love, laughter and an electric cart thief!

Curosity in Colour path:

LONDON 🚄 ⇨ PARIS 🚄 ⇨ VERSAILLES 🚄 ⇨ PARIS 🚄 ⇨ LONDON

Some of our favourite things are holidays, exploring, travelling and having new experiences together. When we’re given one of these things for free (BANK HOLIDAY), we try our best to capitalise on it! Our bank holiday weekend adventure to Paris was decided as one of us had never visited the city of love and the other had wanted to visit the gardens in Versailles 🌲🌼🌻🌷🌳 for a very long time.

So, we packed our bags and headed to Paree on Champions League Final day 😳. That didn’t bother us because we were lovers in the city of love with a day of adventure ahead of us. We sat down for our first meal on a vibrant picturesque street. Laughter and love filled the quaint Paree street that we dined on however, it was also filled with cheers and groans from that Gareth Bale bicycle kick.

The next morning, we packed a picnic 🥐🥐🥐 and headed to Versailles to frolic in the gardens. Our last day in Paris was spent sightseeing going up the Arc de Triomphe as well as viewing the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and Sacré-Cœur.

We were extremely fortunate to have done all of the above before an extremely strong thunderstorm hit the City.

Curiosity in Colour highlight:

The Versailles gardens – we highly recommend, it’s beautiful inside and out thanks to the remarkable Hall of Mirrors, beautiful fountain shows and famous orange trees that protect the formal gardens. On top of this, it provides a truly unique experience to every single visitor. You can decide to walk around, cycle outside or take an electric cart. If you choose the latter, here are our top tips for an enjoyable experience:

3. Park in a safe and responsible place – with the keys 🔑 to the cart in hand we couldn’t believe it when our cart was being driven away. Luckily, we caught the thief who turned out to be an extremely helpful member of staff

2. Take turns driving – share the responsibility of driving and orienteering. Encourage each other to try new things. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

1. Question their pricing – the additional you must pay for an extra 30 minutes is astronomical. We saw every landmark on the map however, it was like we were living with the fast-forward button set to x30. I think we deserve a medal 🏅 for our efforts. Nobody else will see every Versailles attraction using the cart in the allotted 60 minutes.

If you have any questions on Versailles, don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’re happy to help.
